House GOP Conference Chair Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers To Address ACA #Summit24

PITTSBURGH, March 8, 2017 – The American Cable Association is very pleased to announce that U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), who as Chair of the House Republican Conference is the fourth highest-ranking Republican and the highest-ranking female Republican in the House of Representatives, will address ACA members on March 29 at their 24th annual policy summit in Washington, D.C.

“ACA greatly appreciates that Rep. McMorris Rodgers will speak at the ACA Summit. Her appearance could not be more special or timely, given that Washington, D.C., will consider regulatory relief to businesses across the nation, including smaller video and broadband providers eager to re-start the engine of economic growth fueled by private investment,” ACA President and CEO Matthew M. Polka said.

ACA Members – a group of entrepreneurs who in some cases have mortgaged their primary homes to invest in their companies – have much in common with Rep. McMorris Rodgers, who represents Eastern Washington with towns and communities that are typical of the areas ACA members serve. She also knows the value of hard work and what it takes to be successful in business, growing up working at her family’s business, and later becoming a wife and mom of three, living the American Dream.

Rep. McMorris Rodgers is a rising star in American politics. Since first being elected to the House in 2004, she has earned the trust of her constituents and praise on Capitol Hill for her hard work, conservative principles, bipartisan outreach, and leadership and gave the official Republican response to President Obama’s State of the Union address in 2014.

As Chair of the House Republican Conference since 2012, Rep. McMorris Rodgers has reshaped the entire Conferences’ approach to messaging, engagement on social media, and creating a more unified approach to policy.  In November of 2016 she was appointed to serve as a vice chair of President-elect Trump’s Transition Team.

During her time on Capitol Hill, Rep. McMorris Rodgers has focused on introducing legislation based on the priorities she hears in conversations with the people of Eastern Washington. Her mission is to restore the people’s voice in Congress, and to make government more efficient, effective, and accountable to hardworking Americans.
