July 22, 2026—America’s Communications Association released the following statement in response to the FCC’s approval of an order to auction C-band spectrum currently used by cable operators to receive programming via satellite for their video systems.
“This order is the beginning of the journey, not the end,” said Grant Spellmeyer, America’s Communications Association President and CEO. “The relocation of incumbent cable operators off the Upper C-band to other platforms involves many transition steps, and ACA Connects will be there every step of the way. As always, our priority is to protect our Members’ ability to serve their customers and communities. We are committed to working with the Commission and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition and fair compensation of transition costs.”
