Internet Service Providers Fight Against Sex Trafficking

You can make a difference.

In coordination with Guardian Group, ACA Connects offers information to providers about Operation IFAST. This initiative originated with CL Tel, an ACA Connects Member, and the Guardian Group, a non-profit whose mission is to prevent and disrupt the sex trafficking of women and children in the United States.

According to the Guardian Group, 75 percent of underage victims reported being sold online and 150,000 new escort ads are posted online every day in America. Operation IFAST was established to help service providers be better equipped to identify these heinous crimes and help bring them to an end.

We invite all ACA Connects Members to join Operation IFAST to take part in this critical initiative. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.

1. Train Your Team

By training your team, you demonstrate leadership to your community. Training is especially valuable for those working in the field, so they are aware of the signs of sex-trafficking and can report suspicious behavior to law enforcement.

2. Connect with Law Enforcement

The Guardian Group offers a variety of free resources for law enforcement to help them combat sex trafficking by reducing the man hours needed to identify, locate and rescue victims of human trafficking. Use your community connections to introduce law enforcement to these resources by hosting an information-sharing event with your local law enforcement.

3. Raise Funds

Support the efforts of the Guardian Group by:

  • Hosting an event for your community to learn more.
  • Joining Team 1591 as a company.
  • Starting a corporate matching program and inviting your employees to increase the impact.

“Look Again” video by The Michigan State Police

Workers who are in people’s homes on a day-to-day basis are a critical part of identifying potential cases of human trafficking and combatting this horrific crime. Human trafficking can often go unnoticed, even by individuals interacting with a victim. Recognizing the indicators can help alert in-home technicians to a human trafficking situation. While no single indicator is necessarily proof of human trafficking, recognizing the signs is the first step in identifying potential victims.

When you know what to look for, you can help bring an end to human trafficking.
