September 1, 2026—America’s Communications Association (ACA Connects) released the following statement after the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology passed H.R. 2805, the Proper Leadership to Align Networks (PLAN) for Broadband Act.
“ACA Connects thanks Congressmen Tim Walberg (R-MI) and Scott Peters (D-CA) for their leadership in improving the efficiency and coordination of federal broadband programs,” said Grant Spellmeyer, President and CEO of America’s Communications Association. “As Congress and the FCC work to lift permitting barriers, the PLAN for Broadband Act would help America’s independent broadband providers better plan investments and direct resources accelerating deployment and expanding access to reliable high-speed services across the country. We urge swift passage by Congress of this bipartisan legislation that would strengthen our nation’s broadband strategy.”
