July 2, 2025—ACA Connects: America’s Communications Association released the following statement after Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr delivered a major policy speech in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he outlined his “Build America” agenda.
“We applaud Chairman Carr for crafting this vision for America to build, modernize networks, and further bridge the high-speed connectivity gap,” said ACA Connects President and CEO Grant Spellmeyer. “In the past seven years, ACA Connects Members have invested private capital to expand coverage by almost 50% and to roughly 10 million new locations, many of which are in harder-to-serve smaller towns and rural areas. These are certainly milestones to celebrate—and our Members recognize there is even more they can accomplish with reforms that lift regulatory and economic barriers, such as cutting red tape and streamlining permitting and pole attachment rules. America’s independent providers and their crews are excited to help the Chairman’s efforts to unleash more investment and innovation in communities throughout the country.”
ACA Connects—America’s Communications Association is a trade organization representing approximately 500 smaller and medium-sized, independent companies that provide broadband, video, and phone services covering 29.5 million households. ACA Connects Members operate in every state, providing advanced communications to connect homes, companies, main street, schools, hospitals and more. America’s economic prosperity in smaller communities and rural areas depends on the growth and success of ACA Connects Members, who believe a connected nation is a prosperous nation.
