ACA Connects Urges FCC to Redouble Efforts to Spur High-Speed Infrastructure Builds

September 9, 2025—America’s Communications Association (ACA Connects) filed comments for the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) annual Section 706 inquiry concerning the availability of advanced telecommunications capability to all Americans.

“The state of connectivity in America is strong thanks to the hard work of independent providers, a competitive marketplace, and steps the FCC has recently taken to restore a balanced regulatory environment,” said Grant Spellmeyer, President and CEO of America’s Communications Association. “Still, this is no time to let up on the gas, especially as BEAD funding is awarded. ACA Connects thanks the FCC for its work to foster more high-speed internet infrastructure deployments. We urge the Commission to keep this up and redouble its efforts to address barriers to investment, including the pole attachment process, permitting burdens, and harmful policies like rate regulation.”

In the comments, ACA Connects applauds the progress that broadband providers are making to deploy more advanced technologies and expand their capacity to deliver higher quality service to customers at more affordable rates.

To continue this progress and ensure all Americans are connected, ACA Connects urges the FCC to adopt further reforms to expedite attachment of broadband facilities to investor-owned utility poles, facilitate access to public rights-of-way, and rein in State and local policies that inhibit, or threaten to inhibit, broadband deployment.
