February 28, 2025— ACA Connects: America’s Communications Association announced today that Senator John Curtis (R-UT) will take the mainstage at the ACA Connects Annual Summit in Washington, D.C., on March 5, 2025. This annual fly-in event connects broadband and video providers from across the country with influential lawmakers, regulators, and policy experts.
Senator Curtis will participate in a fireside chat discussing his telecommunications priorities and leadership to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs. He is a member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, Committee on Environment and Public Works, Committee on Foreign Relations, and Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
“ACA Connects is grateful for the leadership of Senator John Curtis. He’s been a long-time friend of our association because of his strong advocacy for rural America and bridging the digital divide in underserved communities,” said ACA Connects President and CEO Grant Spellmeyer. “I’m thrilled he is attending the Summit for what will be a great discussion on ways to unlock investment and further empower rural broadband providers.”
During his seven years representing Utah’s Third Congressional District, then-Representative Curtis passed 27 pieces of legislation into law. His accomplishments include better public land management, connecting rural America, reducing burdensome regulations on small businesses, and more. He was ranked by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking as the ninth most effective Republican member of Congress. In 2023, his office earned recognition as the best in Congress for constituent accountability and accessibility.
Senator Curtis is a proven problem solver. Before his time in Congress, he was a small business owner. He served as mayor of Provo City for eight years, earning a 94% approval rating and being named the “Top Elected Official on Social Media” in 2015. His leadership was recognized with awards such as the Silicon Slopes Community Hero, UVU’s Civic Innovator Award, and Utah Valley Magazine’s Person of the Year.
The theme for this year’s Summit is “Imagine the Possibilities.” The event will take place March 4-6, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt, 1000 H Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Keynote speakers include FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington, Energy and Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Richard Hudson (R-NC), C-SPAN CEO Sam Feist, and Wall Street policy analyst Blair Levin.
