PITTSBURGH, Oct. 28, 2019 – ACA Connects President and CEO Matthew M. Polka issued the following statement on news that Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) will not seek re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives at the end of his current two-year term:

“I was saddened to learn that Rep. Greg Walden has announced his retirement after his current term expires in 2021. Knowing the Congressman, I am sure he will ‘run through the tape’ and will be pushing a full legislative agenda until his tenure ends.

“The members of ACA Connects have appreciated his leadership on so many of the vital telecommunications issues that affect their companies, and we look forward to continuing that work on major bills, such as STELAR, combating robocalls, finding solutions to the C-Band that will help broadband deployment in rural America, and many other important topics.”
