September 16, 2025—America’s Communications Association (ACA Connects) today announced that Jack Latzer will serve as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Latzer will join the team at the end of September. He will succeed John Higginbotham, who has led the daily operations of ACA Connects since 2020. Higginbotham and Latzer will serve together during a transition period until Higginbotham retires after the ACA Connects Annual Summit in March.
For more than 20 years, Latzer served in multiple leadership roles at NCTI. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Productivity Solutions, where he worked closely with many ACA Connects members to create customized employee development and retention programs.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Jack to help me lead ACA Connects. He is a highly respected leader in our industry and has excellent team building and management experience. He is also well known by ACA Connects Members, whom he has worked with for more than two decades. As he steps in the role as our new Executive Vice President and COO, I’m excited to see how he will strengthen our mission as the premier trade association for independent broadband providers,” said Grant Spellmeyer, President and CEO of America’s Communications Association.
He added, “I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to John Higginbotham. For the past five years, he has been ACA Connects’ trusted second-in-command and a steady hand through a period of significant change. From guiding the association as our Members’ focus evolved from cable to broadband, to supporting me as I stepped into the role of CEO, John’s leadership has been instrumental. I’m deeply grateful for his continued support in ensuring a smooth transition that positions ACA Connects for success in 2026 and beyond.”
“I look forward to leaning on my experiences from the past 20 years with NCTI to have a positive impact on ACA Connects. This is an exciting opportunity to continue serving them in a new way.” said Latzer. “Of course, you can’t replace John Higginbotham. John and I have known each other for many years. I look forward to working alongside him for the next six months to set the association up for continued long term success.”
