November 18, 2025—America’s Communications Association (ACA Connects) issued the following statement regarding today’s Energy and Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee markup of more than two dozen bills to streamline the broadband permitting process.
“ACA Connects thanks Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Richard Hudson for making permitting reform a top priority,” said Grant Spellmeyer, President and CEO of America’s Communications Association. “The legislative solutions considered today will strip away red tape and enable broadband, cable, and telecommunications providers to redirect resources to upgrading and expanding their networks and services, especially in rural areas.”
America’s Communications Association (ACA Connects) is a trade organization representing about 500 small and medium-sized, independent companies that provide high-speed internet, video, phone, and mobile services covering 29.5 million households.
