February 14, 2024 – Today, ACA Connects announced Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) will be a keynote speaker at the ACA Connects Annual Summit in Washington, D.C., on March 6, 2024. This annual fly-in event attracts broadband and cable providers from across the country.
Spellmeyer said, “It’s great news that Senator Mullin is joining us as a keynote speaker at this year’s Summit. For more than a decade, he’s led the initiative to boost connectivity and increase internet access in some of the hardest to reach areas of the country. He knows that small and rural providers are at the forefront of this effort. Our Members will gain great insight from his leadership and the opportunities before us to close the digital divide.”
Senator Mullin was sworn into office on January 3, 2023, following ten years of service to Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives. A lifelong Oklahoman, Senator Mullin grew up on his family’s ranch in Westville where he and his family still reside to this day. As one of the only current business operators in the U.S. Senate, Mullin brings over 25 years of firsthand experience and entrepreneurial leadership to address some of the biggest issues impacting the U.S. economy and Oklahoma’s small business community. Specifically, he has led on solutions to lift financial burdens on small rural broadband providers, strengthen connectivity, and lower costs for Americans.
Senator Mullin serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee; the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee; the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee; and the Indian Affairs Committee. When he served in the House of Representatives, he served for four sessions of Congress on the Energy and Commerce Committee, which leads on solutions critical to communications and technology industries.
For the past 30 years, the Summit has provided ACA Connect Members with a forum to gain insight into business trends and policy developments, advocate for a level playing field, and engage with policymakers and industry leaders.
The theme for this year’s Summit is “Invest and Innovate.” The event will take place March 5-7 at the Grand Hyatt, 1000 H Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. More speakers are expected to be announced.
