December 1, 2023 – The FCC has extended, for three additional filing cycles, its waiver allowing broadband providers to use qualified engineers who are not certified Professional Engineers (PEs) to certify their Broadband Data Collection (BDC) filings. This statement regarding the waiver extension order may be attributed to ACA Connects President and CEO Grant Spellmeyer:
“ACA Connects commends the FCC for extending its waiver that allows broadband providers to rely on qualified in-house engineers to certify their BDC filings. As ACA Connects explained in its comments to the FCC, this action will enable smaller broadband providers to continue to make timely, complete, and accurate filings without incurring unnecessary burdens.”
