Abdoulah Joins ACA’s Board

Campbell, Brophy Re-Elected to Executive Committee

Pittsburgh, October 13, 2008 – WOW! CEO and President, Colleen Abdoulah was appointed to Board of Directors of the American Cable Association (ACA) for a two-year term last week during the ACA’s quarterly meeting in Tucson, Arizona.  Kirby Campbell, Vice-Chairman of the Armstrong Group, and Martin Brophy, President of Shen-Heights TV Associates, were also re-elected to the Executive Committee of the ACA for one-year terms on the six-member board.

“We could not be more proud or more excited to add Colleen Abdoulah to our Board.  The ACA’s Board now includes many of the most talented and visionary executives in the cable television industry, and our association.  Our more than 1,100 members nationwide are privileged to have all of these individual’s time and energy,” said ACA President and CEO, Matthew M. Polka.  Abdoulah will serve out the remaining two years of WOW! COO Steven Cochran’s term.  “Steve Cochran has been truly selfless in his service to ACA, and we thank him,” added Polka.

“As we approach the end of another successful year for the ACA in which the FCC adopted an exemption from the digital must carry obligations for small cable operators, among other achievements, we’re pleased to retain the services of Kirby Campbell and Martin Brophy on our Executive Committee.” Polka said.  “Our executive committee is the daily force behind our Board, and our Association.”

Campbell and Brophy join Steve Friedman, Chairman, Wave Broadband (WA); Jim Bruder, Vice Chairman, Harron Communications (PA); Dave Baum, Treasurer, JetBroadband (CT); and Patrick Knorr, Ex Officio Chairman, Sunflower Broadband (KS).
