PITTSBURGH, December 14, 2016 – American Cable Association President and CEO Matthew M. Polka issued the following statement regarding new leadership appointments at Cable ONE:
“Cable ONE’s announcement today naming Julie Laulis as the company’s new CEO is great news both for Cable ONE and its customers. Julie is a recognized cable industry leader who has played a central role in driving Cable ONE’s thriving strategy of emphasizing investment in new services driven by broadband technology. We know that Julie will take Cable ONE to even greater heights.
“At the same time, ACA would also like to congratulate Tom Might, who is turning the CEO reins over to Julie after more than two decades running the company and assuming the role of Executive Chairman of Cable ONE. Tom is a gifted executive and valued ACA board member who has been incredibly generous with his time and advice as independent cable operators find the right answers amid so much change, progress and opportunity.
“We at ACA look forward to continue working with Julie and Tom to ensure that markets served by Cable ONE and other ACA members are permitted to work without government intervention to the maximum extent possible. If intervention is necessary, government must ensure statutes and regulations are: Competitively and technologically neutral; facilitate network deployment and the offering of advanced services; and are precisely targeted to minimize any adverse economic impact on smaller providers and their subscribers.”
