PITTSBURGH, Feb. 20, 2020 – Joe Theismann, NFL legend and Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Washington Redskins, will be a keynote speaker at the ACA Connects 27th Annual Summit, ACA Connects President and CEO Matthew M. Polka announced today.

Theismann will speak on March 18 during the Summit at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington D.C

“We are privileged to welcome Joe Theismann to our Summit. His leadership and experience will be an inspiration to our members and attendees. We look forward to learning about Joe’s experiences, challenges and victories in building winning teams both on and off the football field. What a great way to kick off the Summit with a past champion who is still winning and focused on the future,” Polka said.

With every chapter of his life, Theismann evolved from athlete to the ultimate businessman. An Emmy Award-winning analyst, entrepreneur and athlete, he utilizes his gifts, talents and high energy to share his strategies for handling unforeseen change. As an entrepreneur, Theismann has spent the last two decades working for ESPN and the NFL Network as an NFL analyst.

In 1972, Theismann graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he received All-American honors in both football and academics.

A 12-year NFL veteran, Theismann played in 163 consecutive games from 1974-1985 for the Redskins and holds team records for passing yardage (25,206), completions (2,044) and attempts (3,602). He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and Pro Bowl MVP. He led the Redskins to a 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII.

He was selected as the NFL’s Man of the Year in 1982 for his community service and dedication to the health and welfare of children. In 1983, he won the league’s Most Valuable Player Award, leading the Redskins to a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. In 2003, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and in 2013 received the Walter Camp Football Foundation “Distinguished American” Award.
