ACA Summit 2015 Opens Website With Registration Forms, Event Details

Portal Provides Key Information For March 3-5 Forum In Nation’s Capital

PITTSBURGH, December 4, 2014 – The American Cable Association is pleased to announce that the ACA Summit 2015 website is now active and includes registration information to attend this exciting event. Taking place March 3-5 in Washington, D.C., the ACA Summit puts the independent cable community in close contact with America’s top lawmakers, regulators and journalists covering communications in our nation’s capital.

“ACA is expecting to play a key role in major telecom policy issues in 2015, highlighted by the effort on Capitol Hill to overhaul the 1996 Telecommunications Act. At ACA’s 22nd Summit, all the issues we care about will be discussed as we move ahead in support of a balanced Net Neutrality regime and sensible reform of retransmission consent,” ACA President and CEO Matthew M. Polka said. “The Summit is an unmatched way to learn how ACA Members plan to take on the special interests.”

The ACA Summit underscores the unique role that more than 800 independent cable operators play in providing best-in-class communications services to millions of consumers living and working in some of the most remote areas of the country. When it comes to responding to the critical broadband infrastructure needs of rural America, ACA Members are the ones who are putting their own capital at risk and supplying the solutions.

Created in the early 1990’s, the ACA Summit gives independent cable operators a vehicle for framing the issues in their own words during dozens of meetings on Capitol Hill over a short period of time. More so than ever, ACA Members agree on the need to speak with one voice and to be as visible as possible in making their views known on the diverse and complex issues facing their companies.

“ACA Members know that “Solving the Puzzle!” — this year’s Summit theme — will require persistence and determination if they are going to overcome the entrenched interests that will cling to their regulatory advantages at all costs,” Polka said.

ACA Members view the Summit as the place to be for informing policymakers on their unique business concerns and demonstrating that laws and regulations that might be suitable for media giants can put enormous financial strain on the operations of businesses with a strong rural profile.

The ACA Summit website includes event details and secure online registration. Please visit the ACA Summit 2015 website by clicking here: ACA Summit.  The event will take place at the Grand Hyatt, 1000 H Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001.
