ACA Welcomes Rep. Blackburn’s Net Neutrality Bill

PITTSBURGH, December 19, 2017 — American Cable Association President and CEO Matthew M. Polka issued the following statement regarding the introduction of Net Neutrality legislation by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology:

“ACA welcomes the legislation introduced by House Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Blackburn and 13 of her colleagues to address open Internet issues. Because these issues are so important and of such concern to all Americans, Congress should take the time to examine them in depth. ACA looks forward to working with the Chairman and other Members of Congress in the legislative process to not only drive investment in high-performance broadband infrastructure and promote greater innovation in services, but also provide key consumer protections, including by ensuring that users can access all legal content provided over the Internet.”
