Through self-funded initiatives as well as participation in government programs, ACA Connects Members are helping to ensure that all households in their communities can enjoy the benefits of broadband, regardless of income.

The series underscores the importance of letting ACAC Members explain local market challenges in their own voice, allowing them to connect with regulators and lawmakers in a personal and authentic way.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC program to help households struggling to pay for internet service during the pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, and virtual classrooms.

ACA Connects is pleased to join with Education Super Highway in supporting the K-12 Bridge to Broadband Program, a new initiative to help connect students to broadband for remote learning.

Hello to our ACA Connects Members!

I look forward to seeing you soon at an upcoming industry event, on one of our many ACAC webinars, or at the upcoming NCTC/ACAC Independent Show in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, July 24-27, 2022!

But I wanted to write today to share with you my personal news that after 25 years of having the blessing to lead ACA Connects, I have decided to step down as president and CEO as of July 31, 2022. I have been thinking about this for some time, because I believe new vision and energy are good for an organization to grow toward even greater future successes while standing upon strong and lasting roots. ACA Connects has grown from being “a voice in the wilderness” in Washington, D.C., to a strong and effective voice for our Members in Washington and our industry because of your commitment to our work that will not cease!

ACA Connects is so fortunate to have a team that is committed to you and your future, and I know that our next leader will step right in with them to keep serving you! We are also so fortunate to be led by our strong and effective leaders in Chairman Patty Boyers of BOYCOM and Vice Chairman Mike Bowker of Cable One, as well as our entire Board. You can count on them to continue to lead you and our association to great heights! As our first Chairman Dave Kinley of Sun Country Cable once said on our first anniversary, “Fatigue is NOT on the agenda!” Wasn’t then and it isn’t now either.

I have cherished every day I have had the privilege and honor to lead and to serve you, and I thank you for putting your trust in me. It’s a debt I can never repay. But I hope to try as I see and visit with you over the next few months. Know this – I will always be there for you whenever you need me. Every day, you have truly inspired me, and I simply can’t thank you enough.

Patty, our Chairman, will be naming a new leader soon, and you can find more information about today’s news in our press release and video interview I had the pleasure to do recently with our EVP and COO John Higginbotham. But stay focused and stay committed to each other and our ACA Connects Team, and then we will be sure to move ONWARD and UPWARD, TOGETHER!
