GCI's Tina Pidgeon, Vyve's Vin Zachariah Elected To ACA Board

ACA Chairman Gessner Thanks Allan Block, Jim Beattie For Their Outstanding Board Service

BOSTON, July 22, 2015 – The American Cable Association announced today the election of two individuals to the Board of Directors: Tina Pidgeon, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs at GCI, Inc., and Vin Zachariah, Senior Vice President of Residential Services at Vyve Broadband.

“ACA continues to advance the agenda of independent cable operators thanks to the hard work performed by the many talented and dedicated people who serve on the Board. I am positive that Tina Pidgeon and Vin Zachariah will make lasting and important contributions in the years ahead as we develop plans to convince Washington, D.C., officials to make the right choices,” ACA Chairman Bob Gessner, President of MCTV, said.

Elected to new three-year board terms were incumbents Jim Gleason, president and CEO of Vast Broadband; John Gdovin, EVP and Chief Administrative Officer of Patriot Media/RCN/Grande; and Patrick Knorr, EVP IP and Business Services, Wave Broadband.

In a related announcement, Gessner said that Allan Block, Chairman of Block Communications, and Jim Beattie, Director of Government Relations and General Counsel at BEVCOMM, are stepping down from the Board following the expiration of their current terms.

“Allan Block and Jim Beattie will be greatly missed. During their time on the ACA Board, these talented executives offered creative solutions to the most difficult problems we faced. ACA is a better organization because ACA Members were able to benefit from the talents and judgment of Allan and Jim,” Gessner said.

ACA’s Board elections were announced at today’s annual ACA Members meeting during the Independent Show, a leading communications industry forum hosted by ACA and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC). Pidgeon — GCI’s strategic leader for legal, regulatory, compliance, and policy initiatives — plays an instrumental role in GCI’s growth and development by guiding the company’s strategy and negotiations on business ventures. She leads a department that is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the company’s legal, regulatory, and advocacy efforts.

Zachariah, as head of Vyve’s Residential Services unit, has overall responsibility for operations and fulfillment of residential services as well as overseeing programming, billing services and ad sales for the company.  He joined Vyve from Mediacom Communications, where he was Senior Vice President of Field Operations and Fulfillment.
